BURNHAM’S Chamber of Trade has linked up with supermarket Tesco to promote the town centre.
The chamber’s new shoppers’ guides are being distributed in the store to customers over the Christmas period and throughout next year in a bid to ensure smaller traders are not overlooked.
Tesco manager Hayley Roberts said: “When we heard about the chamber's current campaign to encourage people to ‘shop local’ we wanted to get involved.”
“Tesco is very happy to help the chamber support Burnham, working together to promote the town as a good place to shop. It's in all our interests that Burnham is prosperous and successful.”
Burnham Chamber of Trade has been busy in recent weeks distributing the shoppers’ guides in town and launching a ‘shop local’ campaign to promote shops and small businesses in the run-up to Christmas.
The chamber also oversaw the successful Christmas lights switch-on in Burnham last month when record crowds were drawn to the town centre.
