ARE you interested in forming or joining a Cornish Pilot Gig Rowing Club here at Burnham on Sea?
Head along to the BARB and RNLI Escape Day on August 9, see a gig and talk to experienced rowers.
Burnham on Sea Motor Boat and Sailing Club will be there from 9am till late afternoon and are hoping to have a gig launch and rowing demonstration starting at 12 noon, depending on conditions that day.
The Burnham on Sea Motor Boat and Sailing Club stand will be behind the BARB building.
Gig rowing is currently the country’s fastest growing team water sports ideal for the highly competitive through to anyone just looking for healthy exercise.
Gigs needs a crew of six rowers and a cox, and many of the current registered teams are all girls crews.
Based so near to Cornwall, the home of the sport, you will be ideally placed to see and maybe even to participate at the highest level, it’s your choice.
