A charity ball is set to raise cash for a new scanner for the Taunton's Musgrove Hospital at the Beacon Centre.
The Somerset Unit for Radiotherapy Equipment (SURE) based at the centre has an ageing scanner which needs replacing at a cost of half and million pounds.
Campaigners are holding the knees-up at Rookery Manor Hotel near Axbridge on Friday, October 16, with tickets at £30 per person to include a three course meal. On the night there will be a red carpet arrival, photographs upon entry, a tombola, an auction and live band entertainment from a local band, Pearl and The Diamond Geezers.
The couple behind the event are Sheila and Anthony Maundrell who say they already have had some wonderful prizes donated for the event but call always do with more.
