The Royal Mail strikes rumble on as comments from leaders across communications, health, rail, and education sectors commented that only fair pay and job security can put an end to the UK's strike actions.

Workers have come out saying that the "leaders are trying to attempt the workers to starve back the postal workers, and rip their union to pieces". They say what is at danger are the hours reduction, drop in the allowances, cuts to their terms, putting the jobs at risk, and removal of the union from the workplaces.

Dave Ward, who is the general secretary of the Communication Workers Union, said that their demands with the company are very simple.

He said: "All we are asking is getting around the table, proper negotiation, not to introduce any unagreed changes."

He futher said that they proposed these conditions but the leaders did not agree and they will suspend their strikes when these demands are properly met.

He further claimed how the workers have faced betrayals that have led to postal workers leaving Royal Mail and joining hands with public sector workers in their strikes over the pay.

However, a Royal Mail representative said: "This behaviour has no place in any civilised workplace. The direct intervention of the CWU's general secretary is needed to end this culture of intimidation on the picket line, including many incidents by CWU representatives."

Workers all accross the UK including in Burnham-on-Sea have took to strikes even in cold and rainy weather to protest about their rights. The strikes are expected to run upto Christmas, and will be on strike on Burnham-on-Sea today and tomorrow.

A Royal Mail spokesperson said: " Throughout December, we have urged the CWU to call off their strike action and work together to deliver Christmas for our customers."
