A NEW team member is wanted to help out at the new community clothing bank in Burnham-on-Sea.

The Burnham and Highbridge Community Clothing Bank officially opened last Thursday October 5, and due to immediate success, the team are already appealing for a new volunteer.

Located within the Waffle Hub Cafe at the Methodist Church, the clothing bank opens every Thursday for locals in need of garments to drop in and out, with no vouchers necessary.

Co-founders Emily Beaven and Kim Chatwin are looking for someone with a "happy smile" and a desire to assist the public when picking out clothes at the clothing bank.

The successful candidate must be available to work between the hours of 2pm and 4:30pm every Thursday.

The volunteer position includes packing up the clothes and returning the boxes and rails to the clothing bank's storage room - there is a trolley to help with carrying heavier loads.

Emily explained how gratifying it can be to volunteer at such an important service for the local community.

"We offer a safe and friendly environment where you will work alongside a very happy and dedicated team who are passionate about helping our community," she said.

"Make new friends and gain work and personal experience along the way. "

The new clothing bank is also in need of two heavy duty clothes rails with wheels for manoeuvrability.

Emily and Kim hope a local can be kind enough to donate the new equipment, or even a local business to step in as a sponsor.
