A SECONDARY school in Highbridge has expanded its on-site pre-loved clothing store, which began by selling second hand prom clothing such as suits and dresses.

The King Alfred School Academy has officially opened its new and improved Preloved Uniform and Books Store, following the success of the former Preloved Prom Store which opened four years ago.

As well as retired prom attire, the new store offers uniform supplies such as shirts, ties, blazers, PE kit, toiletries, revision books, and study resources all of which have been donated by former students and the local community.

The items can be borrowed by anyone for free, or in exchange for a donation to charity.

Steve and Jackie Richards from Burnham Portable Toilet Hire provided funding for the store's refurbishment.

Jackie officially opened the store and explained how she wanted to 'give back' to the school, as both of her and Steve's daughters were pupils at TKASKA.

Mr Milford, the school's Principal, said: “I’m really keen that we link with local businesses and the community.

“It is such an amazing opportunity for the school to provide support to families and children at the school."
