Burnham-on-Sea RNLI volunteers went to the aid of a grounded 30-foot yacht on Saturday evening (February 10).
The yacht’s crew had been making a night entrance to the River Brue and had misjudged the entrance channel.
After being paged just after 9pm the Burnham volunteers launched the station D class lifeboat, Burnham Reach, with a crew of three, and went to the casualty area.
Burnham-on-Sea RNLI helmsman Nathan Meager said: "The yacht was well aground and not in obvious danger. The owner was properly equipped with VHF radio, food and water, and was confident of refloating on the morning tide. He had sensibly notified Coastguard control of his predicament, who paged us to assist if required. We were happy to assist, but on this occasion were not really required."
The RNLI crew briefed Milford Haven Coastguard control before returning to the town jetty for recovery and wash-down ready for the next service.
