FURTHER upgrades could be underway at Haven Holiday Park in Burnham-on-Sea as the resort has applied to build a new 'Seaside Treats' container.

The application to Somerset Council states the new 24 square-metre area will feature associated external seating, as well as localised infrastructure and landscaping works.

If plans are approved, the new Seaside Treats container could be built on an 'underused' green area next to the fishing lake, in the centre of the holiday park.

It is proposed that the container itself would be painted in white, light pink, turquoise blue, light green, and yellow, measuring 4.6 metres in width, 5.2 metres in depth, and 3.5 metres in height.

The new Seaside Treats area will be used to serve food and drink.

In the planning statement, the applicant wrote: "The proposed unit will be ancillary to the overall use of the park, enhancing the food and drink offer for visitors at the park.

The new unit would also create six new full-time and part-time jobs.

Public consultation is now open, but will close on Tuesday, February 27 - a decision on the plans could be made from the following day.
