A CARAVAN park in Highbridge could receive a major extension as new plans have been submitted to Somerset Council.

Cripps Farm Caravan Park on Merry Lane, in East Huntspill hopes to construct 21 new caravan pitches with hardcore bases, make alterations to existing internal road layout, build a new toilet block as well as a new fishing lake.

It is also planned to install an additional three 'twin unit mobile holiday lodges' next to the proposed new fishing lake.

The lodges would measure around 12.2 metres by 6.1 metres, taking up a total space of 223 square metres, and be accessed via a separate existing entrance to the east of the site.

It's proposed that they would be of a timber-effect, plastic coated, with dark tiled roofs, and brown timber-effect windows and doors to help them to 'blend in' to the existing landscape.

Public consultation is now open, and comments can be made until Tuesday, March 19 - and a decision could be made from the following day.
