New data shows that Burnham-on-Sea is amongst the least expensive beach destinations to park your car.

The study, conducted by Motorscan, looked at 30 prominent UK seaside's for the cost of car parking for 8 hours.

The data was collected using Parkopedia, and shows a trend of the further North you go, the cheaper the car parking, with Burnham-on-Sea being an exception.

For an 8 hour stay, Burnham-on-Sea car parks average £5.33, which places them as the sixth least expensive destination.

The study looked to warn people of the prices of parking and to prepare them ahead of the half term to look in advance.

Head of Vehicle Intelligence at Motorscan, Oliver Thompson said "As evidenced by our latest study, parking costs can significantly impact holiday experiences, especially during peak periods like Easter half term. Brighton's staggering average parking fee of £24.21 tops the charts, highlighting the financial strain families may face when planning beach outings.

“On the contrary, St Andrews emerges as a beacon of affordability, offering seaside parking at just £1.90 on average. These findings underscore the importance of informed decision-making and strategic planning to maximise enjoyment while minimising expenses during holiday travels. Just make sure that you’re prioritising safety and security when deciding where to park your car too."
