Uhlsport Division One: Combe St Nicholas 0-4 Burnham United

BURNHAM United returned to winning ways with a comfortable 4-0 win away at Combe St Nicholas.

Burnham started slowly with a few short passes playing themselves into danger but on the 17th minute Seth Meadon beat the offside trap, with a ball from Nathan Bishop down the right wing for Seth to cross into Josh Watkins to slot first time in bottom right hand corner, Putting Burnham 1-0 up.

Within the next 5 minutes Burnham continued to press utilising the right wing and once again Burnham controlled the ball, allowing Combe to press, this time a ball into Charlie Harding's feet from Tom Edwards In Goal gave him the time to turn and ping diagonal ball 50 yards to Seth Meadon who beat the Combe goalkeeper Andrew Sochon to the ball only to put into the far corner of the post from an awkward angle outside the box on 25 minutes.

The Score line remained 2-0 as the first half concluded despite multiple opportunities to increase the goal tally but Burnham took till the 63rd minute, with a delicate chipped pass from the right wing by Nathan Bishop over the back line to the feet of Joe Selway, who knocked the ball into the path of Harrison Givens who calmly put in the bottom right corner from the just inside 18 yard box.

Burnham changed shape and made subs in the 70th minute and within 4 minutes earned a corner for Nathan Bishop to score directly from it on the left side. Combe St Nicholas made changes and began to pressure Burnham late on but couldn't score past a resolute defence. Player of the Match was Charlie Harding with a dominant controlled passing display on his first start for the first team this season.
